Dr. Jong-Yoon Yi
Jong-Yoon Yi, MD, FACC is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology and is Certified by the Federation of State Medical Boards of the United States of American (FLEX) and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Dr. Yi earned his Medical Degree form Chung Nam National University in Taejon, Korea. He was awarded a medical college scholarship for academic excellence for placing in the top 10% of his class and was bestowed the Award for Academic Excellence from the Chung Nam National University Seoul Medicus Honor Society. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and a Residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. He was the Chief Fellow in Cardiology at the University of Illinois Affiliated Christ Hospital and Medical Center. He completed a Cardiology Fellowship at Christ Hospital and Medical Center and Rush University Hospital and a Cardiology Clinical Research Fellowship at the Rush University Hospital, Department of Preventative Medicine and Epidemiology.
Dr. Yi is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a member of the American Society of Hypertension, American Heart Association, American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. His research is published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.
In 1995, Dr. Yi was honored with the American Society of Hypertension’s Recognition Award for Young Physicians.
